Chelle Cooking! Moses Simon says Super Eagles Youngsters are Spicy

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon says the team is on high spirits heading into Friday's AFCON qualifying match against Madagascar in Uyo.

Nigeria and Madagascar open their Group L campaign and bid to reach next year's tournament with a clash at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo.

Simon and the new look Super Eagles team - without the injured Victor Osimhen - return to action in a competitive game since the 2025 AFCON.

'We are well prepared for the games, this one in Uyo and the next one,' Moses Simon told Brila.net.

The 31 year-old also welcomed the introduction of younger players as the Supe Eagles enter a transitional period.

Coach Eric Chelle handed first time invitations and recall to several youngsters, an approach Simon described as 'spicy'.

'Surely we feel great and happy about the introduction of younger players in the squad. It's like adding a little more spice toa good team.

'Our goal now is to win; that's the desire of everyone.'

Nigeria have won the AFCON three times and were semi-finalists at the last edition of the tournament in Morocco.

The Super Eagles will battle against Madagascar, Guinea Bissau and Tanzania in Group L to make their 23rd appearance in the tournament's history.
