Former Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has welcomed the proposed reforms in Nigerian football, but urges the authorities to fast track the process.
In August, last month, the entire NFF board resigned following a string of poor results by the national teams. The sweeping change at the Glass House saw NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau announcing his resignation.
Subsequently, Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sanctioned wholesome reforms in Nigerian football.
Nigerian Sports officials led by the Secretary General Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme and the National Sports Commission Chairman, Shehu Dikko flew to Zurich where they meet with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and relevant committees to discuss setting up a Normalization Committee to oversee the transition.
The move backed by former national team players, including Finidi George who insists it is long overdue.
Speaking with Brila.net, Finidi expects that the reform will bring positive changes to the game, urging that the process be completed quickly so Nigerian football can move forward.
'They're in the process. It is going to be something good for the country and our football,' Finidi stated.
'We've been longing for this. I hope it will be done quickly. I'm quite happy how things are progressing.'
