Penalty Heartbreak! Nigeria’s U17WWC Final dreams dashed

Nigeria failed to reach the final of the 2022 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, losing to Colombia 6-5 on penalties.

After a goalless scoreline in regulation time, the game went into penalties and Nigeria’s U17 Women’s team, Flamingos, lost.

Omamuzo Edafe, who was grabbed the winner in Nigeria’s semi-final triumph against USWYT, allowed the Colombians back into the contest after missing what could have been the winning penalty.

Having missed in the SF shootout against USA, Comfort Folorunsho yet again fell short as she had her kick saved, ending the team’s dream of reaching the final.

Bankole Olowookere’s side will now face the loser of the second semi-final between Germany and Spain encounter.
