The youngster was valued at around €30m last summer following his incredible run of form for Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s side. Gift Orban has struggled to put the disappointment of his inability to secure a transfer behind him and has affected his form drastically. He was linked with a host of top clubs in Europe, including Eintracht Frankfurt, Milan, Tottenham and Lille. No deal however materialized as suitors pulled out following Gent’s excessive demand. The 20-year-old is under contract until June 30, 2027 and it will be interesting to see how the club manage the situation.
