Head coach of the Falconets, Moses Aduku says his team's precision in front of goal was the deciding factor against their round of 16 opponent, England.
Nigeria beat England 3-0 on Thursday at the Stadion Miejski to progress into the quarter-final for the 9th time in the Country's history in the competition.
Goals scored by Tosin Rafiu (8'), Janet Akekoromowei (47'), and Mary Mamudu (73'), continue Nigeria's resurgence in the tournament after a poor start in the group stages.
Speaking after the game, Aduku praised the England girls, but admits his team had to work extra hard for the win.
'Firstly, I want to thank God for the win. The English team was a good and strong team, but we were determined, we had our opportunities and we took them, that was the deciding factor, ' the Falconets expressed excitedly.
He declared that, 'The World Cup has just started but we take it one game at a time.',
Next for the Falconets is a quarter-final clash with Colombia and Aduku is convinced his team will be ready for another test of wits.
He reiterated that the team's ambition now is to reach the last four.
'Our girls are focused, mentally we will prepare for the next game and hope we can reach the semis.
Nigeria and Colombia will meet for the first time in the competition's history with their quarter-final clash scheduled for September 20th at the Stadion Miejski ?KS ?ód?.
