Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has expressed confidence that the upcoming pre-Olympic match against Canada will be a formidable test for his team.
The match will see Nigeria face off against the reigning Olympic champions.
Both teams previously clashed in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Group B opener on July 21, 2023, at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, where the game ended in a goalless draw.
Nigeria went on to reach the round of 16, while Canada failed to make it out of the Group.
“Against Canada, we aim to give a good performance regardless of the result,” Waldrum said.
“We know some players are returning from injury, so we will use this opportunity to see what they can do ahead of the Olympics. Canada are the Olympic champions, so we expect a tough match, and the girls are ready.”
