Head Coach, Randy Waldrum believes the Super Falcons have shown the ability to play good football following the success recorded in the last international window.

Waldrum expressed his satisfaction after Tuesday’s victory against New Zealand.

The 66 year-old Coach said, he is pleased with the development of the squad, but insists they have to continue making progress.

The Super Falcons won 3-0 against the Ferns, who are also co-host of the tournament in July. Goals from veteran CB, Onome Ebi, Jennifer Echegini and Desire Oparanozie ensured the win.

The eight time African Champions also beat Haiti 2-1 and Costa Rica 1-0, prior to Tuesday’s game in Antalya, but Waldrum was quick to outline that the team must continue winning ways before the World Cup.

“I think probably it’s still a bit lethargic, we got three goals and clean sheet, maybe I’m a little bit harsh with that grade, but there are still things we can improve on and do better,” the American recalled.

“We can get there, I think the good thing is, in the last two games we’ve been building and it’s getting better and better. This is what we need to do before the World Cup.”

On what’s next for the team Waldrum said, “Next we go into a training camp prior to heading to Australia , that will give us a good chance to work out some of these things we talked about.

“The shape of the team, passing quality and movement. We are much better with those things in this camp, but we must continue to work.”
