Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has heaped praises of Flamingos star, despite failing to reach the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup final.
Flamingos lost 5-6 on penalties to Colombia in the first semi-final played at the Fatorda Stadium on Wednesday.
Goalkeeper Jiwaku saved a penalty to put Flamingos on the brink of qualification, but Omamuzo Edafe and Comfortable Folorunsho missed their penalties to hand Colombia the ticket.
In her reaction, Plumptre tweeted:
“What a team this U17 group are! Flamingoes, we are So to proud of you.
“Heartbreaking to go out on penalties but what a journey. The epitome of team spirit and togetherness.”
The Flamingos will now face Germany in losers’ final on Saturday.
