Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Email Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq has undergone a successful surgery, his club Real Sociedad confirmed on Thursday. The Spanish La Liga club revealed that the forward underwent a successful surgery and will remain under the supervision of medical doctors. “Sadiq underwent surgery this morning. The operation was successfully carried out with no issues. “He will remain in the hospital until Friday or Saturday, depending on his evolution,” a club statement read. Sadiq ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during the game between Real Sociedad and Getafe on Sunday. The player is expected to miss a large chunk of the current campaign, but hope of a return sooner than the last month of the season is not feasible. The 25 year-old signed for Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window deadline day for about €28m plus bonuses. Before the injury, Sadiq had scored three goals in five league games this season.
