Calvin Bassey had a game to forget for Fulham during their Premier League trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.
His performance was less than ideal, especially considering he was largely at fault for Fulham’s 2-0 defeat.
Bassey was starting his second Premier League game since his £18m move from Ajax.
Marco Silva was facing a defensive shortage for the trip to Tottenham, with Issa Diop and Tosin Adarabioyo missing due to a foot injury and groin problem respectively.
The crisis left the Fulham boss with the straits of fielding a CB pairing without a recognized right-footed Central defender.
.
Bassey left-footed defender played from the right and failed to solve the problem, giving the ball away leading to Tottenham’s opening goal.
Bassey’s evening was compounded with another mistake which resulted in another goal for Tottenham in the second half of the encounter.
On a positive note, Alex Iwobi came off the bench for Fulham in the second half.
