Manchester United is interested in signing Victor Osimhen but found the prize tag slammed on him by Napoli outrageous and crazy.
According to Sky Germany, Osimhen is admired by Manchester United managed Erik Ten Hag and the board, but the Reds are reluctant to meet Napoli’s demand of €100m for the striker.
Although Napoli has made it clear that the striker isn’t for sale, United is short of adequate firepower upfront, following the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo and the poor fitness of Antony Martial and Osimhen has become a priority.
United isn’t the only club after the striker, with Tottenham Hotspur joining the race.
According to Italian transfer reporter Enrico De Lellis, Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is pushing the club to make a move for Osimhen.
However, with Tottenham’s transfer history, it is unlikely Chairman Dany Levy will sanction £86m on a new striker, with Harry Kane, Son, and Richarlison still very much in the squad.
Napoli is also pondering on offering the Nigerian a new deal with a pay rise to fend off interest from mega-rich clubs in Europe.
Osimhen is enjoying a remarkable season with Napoli, netting 9 goals in 11 games, despite spending six weeks on the sideline.
