Isaac Success was missing as Udinese fell at home to Spezia in Saturday’s Italian Serie A game.
Success missed the game, due to the injury he sustained while playing for the club two weeks ago.
Udinese were also without Rodrigo Becao (suspended) and top scorer Beto (injured) for the game.
The team felt the absence of these Players and suffered a 2-3 defeat to Spezia who needed just two points to be safe.
Udinese went in front when Ivan Provedel made a fine save on Destiny Udogie’s header, but Giulio Maggiore squared it straight back to Nahuel Molina who fired into the top corner.
The visitors levelled few minutes later when first half substitute, Salva Ferrer beat the goalkeeper with a fine shot.
Spezia turned the game around as they took the lead in first half stoppage time, when Pablo Marì set up Emmanuel Gyasi for a smart finish from 12 yards.
It was 3-1 immediately after the restart. Verde got a low cross in from the left and Maggiore bundled over the line in two attempts, as Silvestri got something on the first.
Spezia then missed a penalty late on, but there was still time left for Udinese to reduce the deficit when Deulofeu’s free kick was flicked home by Pablo Marì in stoppage time.
At the end of the game, Udinese maintained their spot in the bottom half of the table, while, Spezia moved well clear of the drop zone.
