Nigeria National League (NNL) players are distraught with the postponement of the second stanza of the 2021/2022 current campaign.
On Tuesday, the Management officially shifted the second round of the NNL to May 13th as opposed to April 30th in the initial calendar.
Some of the players who spoke to Brila.net on the ground of anonymity said it’s frustrating that the league cannot stick to the initial schedule.
“I’m tired with the way Nigeria league is being run. They change date anyhow and don’t put teams into consideration. This NNL could end by August which is not supposed to be,” a player who spoke under anonymity said.
Another player said, “Nothing is guaranteed in the league anymore, not even officiating or calendar. It’s damn difficult for players in the league.”
During the break, players who are free agents can be signed by a club during the window transfer season, if they had been properly released by their previous club before the end of the transfer window.
Club can request to sign a player on emergency basis, if several goalkeepers are injured at the same time and the clubs are urged to note the transfer deadline – the day upon which a window closes.
Nigeria National league has fixed the 2nd phase of the league to begin on Friday 13th May, 2022 in both the Northern and Southern conferences.
