Kano Pillars hit with hefty fine, Points deduction

The League Management Company has hit Kano Pillars with a 9 million naira fine and points deduction for breaching League rules.

LMC’s verdict came after Pillars’ fans attacked and damaged Katsina United’s team bus during their NPFL derby game on Sunday.

It was Pillars first game at the Sani Abacha Stadium in over two seasons as they have been forced to play in Kaduna due to crowd trouble.

The league’s organizing body on Sunday slapped the Club with a nine million naira fine and docked them three points as well as banished them to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja for the rest of the season.

Another 3 points could be deducted should more fan trouble be reported as the season progresses.

Kano Pillars have also been mandated to restore the damaged Katsina United FC team bus, while the remaining minutes of the said game will be concluded in Abuja.

Following the points deduction, Pillars slipped to 16th on the table, just two points above Heartland who are bottom of the table.

The inconclusive matchday 22 fixture will be concluded at the MKO Abiola Stadium, today.
