Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi didn’t play any part in West Bromwich Albion season opener against Bournemouth on Friday.
Ajayi was left on the bench for the entire as The Baggies forced their hosts to a 2-2 in the English Championship game at the Vitality Stadium.
New Manager Valerien Ismael opted to start the campaign with back three and Dara O’Shea, Kyle Bartley, and Cedric Kipre all got the nod.
West Bromwich Albion’s defense was breached in the 12th minute when Cherries debutant Emiliano Marcondes scored the first of the 2021/22 season with a smart finish from inside the box to give the hosts the ideal start.
Dara O’Shea equalized for Valerien Ismael’s men with a towering header from in the 33rd minute, before, the hosts went back in front through Philip Billing in the 52nd minute.
However, the visitors hit back when substitute Matt Phillips fed Mowatt, who squared for Robinson to secure a point for the Baggies.
