Paul Onuachu has been included in KRC Genk’s Champions League squad to face Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
Onuachu was dropped from the team for weekend’s game against Ostende over his poor start to the 2021-2022 campaign.
Onuachu has featured in two matches this season and yet to make his mark, before he left out against KV Oostende.
Genk coach John van den Brom admitted in his press conference held two days that Onuachu is not happy and promised to have one on one chat with him.
The coach also stated that, the big striker could make a return for his side against Shakhtar Donetsk.
“He agreed with me that he lacks focus and that he was not ready to play,”
“But that could be completely different on Tuesday (when Genk host Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League qualifying match).
“Also as a coach I have to be fair to all my players.” he said.
The striker is not expected to start against Shakhtar Donetsk, but would be introduced at some point in the game.
