Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed that his move to Crystal Palace in January 2016 was the biggest mistake of his career.
Adebayor who currently plays for Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir had his best season in Premier League’s 2007/08, by scoring 24 goals at the Emirates when he replaced Thierry Henry.
After joining Crystal Palace on a six-month loan spell in January last year, the Togolese veteran was released at the end of the same season.
The Former Manchester City player finished his Tottenham career with 37 Premier League goals before he joined Palace.
‘I had some great experiences in England, in clubs who are among the best in the country.
‘The only error that I made was to sign for Crystal Palace in January 2016.
‘I did it just to please my entourage, who were saying to me: “Manu, you have to start playing again!” It was the worst decision of my career,’ Adebayor said.
Before his move to Tottenham Hotspur (loan) from Real Madrid (loan) in the 2011/2012 season, he managed to score only 15 league goals.
Emmanuel Adebayor currently plays for Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir, who finished second in the Super Lig behind Besiktas.
