“When a player was dropped for him in 2010 World Cup, he didn’t complain” Ike Shorunmu blasts Obasi

Former Nigeria international Ike Shorunmu has challenged Chinedu Obasi to come forward with evidence if truly late Stephen Keshi demanded from bribe from him.

It would be recalled that Obasi, former Schalke 04 striker told the media that he was omitted from the 2014 FIFA World Cup squad because he refused to bribe his way into the team.

The revelations have left late Stephen Keshi led technical crew under heavy scrutiny from the media and fans with many now demanding explanations.

In his reaction to his allegations, Shorunmu who was part of the technical crew told www.brila.net that the Obasi was dropped because of his injury problems, before hitting back that he should have come forward with the allegations when Keshi was alive.

“Everyone has their own perspectives, a lot of things will happen when you are coaching at the highest level and for sure there was pressure from all angle”.

“However a player was dropped for Obasi in 2010 World Cup, he did not have any problem with that, now that he was dropped in 2014, he started talking.”

“Some players only think for themselves and not for others, in 2014 Obasi was injured and was just coming back from the serious injury. If he has evidence that they demanded money from him, he should come forward and present it.”

“But why can’t he while Keshi is still alive, so they can face each other.” He told www.brila.net.”

It would be recalled that the late Stephen Keshi, Daniel Amokachi, and Ike Shorunmu led the country to the African cup of Nations glory in South Africa back in 2013.

They also led the team to the second round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
