The novel Coronavirus has left a devastating toll in its wake since it was first reported in Italy.
Scores have been infected and just a many deaths have been reported in the Country, with whole regions on quarantine.
Since the outbreak, Sports event across Italy have either been postponed or suspended indefinitely as the government grapple with the pandemic.
The effects have been particularly devastating for sports fans and Nigerian footballer Simy Nwankwo told brila.net that its has been “a difficult moment”.
‘This has been a very tough time for everybody in the country and honestly it is a difficult moment,’ said Nwankwo.
‘We’re on lock down, there’s nothing else to do but be with the family and pray that this passes over as the government tries to contain the spread.
‘Football is the last thing to talk about right now and is probably going to be suspended until April.
‘On a personal level, I just want to keep my focus and I seriously look forward to all this just going away. Our hearts and prayers go out to everybody affected by this virus and their families too,’ he concluded.
We have been doing fine, before the situation blew up but right now this isn’t the moment to talk about football because everyday you see the death toll go up and the number of infections.
