4 goals in 3 starts: Odion Ighalo is winning the battle against critics

Odion Ighalo scored his fourth goal of the season for Manchester in their Europa league game against Austrian side LASK on Thursday.

The 30 year old former Watford man led United attack once more in the absence of injured Anthony Martial and grabbed his chance with both hands once more.

United won the game 5-0 against the Austrian league leaders and it was Ighalo who opened the scoring with a wonderful strike in the 28th minutes.

Ighalo received a pass from his fellow January arrival Bruno Fernandez and juggled the ball with both feet before he riffled it into the left top conner of the LAKS goal.

United began the second half with the sane intensity,  as goals from Daniel James scored the second to end his 32 games goal drought.

Juan Mata added the third, before Mason Greenwood and Andreas Pereira completed the rout.

Ighalo has now netted four goals in the three games he started so far,  but he’s still searching for his first premier league goal for the club.

The victory extended United’s unbeaten run to 11 matches and have kept nine clean sheet in the process.
