AFN: Solomon Ogba’s Eight Years was a Disaster – Ebewele

The last eight years in the Athletics Federation of Nigeria has been a “disaster” and “a nightmare” according to newly elected board member, Brown Ebewele.

Ebewele, who recently emerged Technical Director of the federation described the administration of the erstwhile President, Solomon Ogba as “Opaque”.

He alleged the AFN leadership was not transparent in its financial dealings and did not fare better on Athletes welfare.

‘Cross River bankrolled a yearly championship for four years. The state supported the AFN with ₦50million but nobody knows anything about the funds.

‘The Delta State government also supported the AFN, but only the state government and Ogba actually know how much was disbursed,’ Ebewele told brila.net

Despite the allegations, the AFN Technical Director does not expect charges will be pressed.

He also believes Ogba contributed meaningfully to the growth of the sport, but in his own way.

‘I don’t think the administration will be investigated. Ogba also contributed to the development of Athletics in his own way.

‘No matter how broke the Federation may be, he would always find a way to get money.’
