Viv Solomon-Otabor says he expected a recall to Nigeria’s squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Sierra Leone, but the 24-year-old midfielder did not make Gernot Rohr’s 24-man list.
Otabor earned a debut call up to the Super Eagles international friendly against Brazil in October of 2019, but did not get minutes against the Seleção.

In a chat with brila.net, the PFC CSKA Sofia player said, ‘I was obviously considering being there, because you want to go back and so you keep training and improving.’
‘I know more opportunities will come as long as you keep working and that’s the important thing.’
Recalling his first session in the Eagles, Otabor described the the team’s training session as “business time”.
‘During training, it was when you know it was business time and you need to prove yourself. You simply go out and give your best because there was nothing to lose and you wanted to prove you worth,’ he explained.
