Cameroon football legend Rigobert Song took charge of his first match in a competitive tournament as Coach of the U23 national team, Friday, in the CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations.
Song, who earned 137 caps for the Indomitable Lions, was appointed Coach of the U23 team last year, leading the team’s bid for a Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games ticket in Egypt.
In his team’s opening group A game against Ghana’s Black Meteors, Cameroon were forced to a 1-1 result, the Lions conceding late on to share points.
