African Champions, Nigeria will compete against host Mozambique, DR Congo in Group A of the Africa Pre-Qualifying Tournament for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Nigeria’s D’Tigress won the AfroBasket Championship in Senegal this year and will face Mozambique ranked 27 and DR Congo ranked 65 for a spot in the semis.
The top Six Countries from the 2019 AfroBasket Championship will vie for two spots to reach the World Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
In Group B, 11 times African Champions Senegal are seeded in Group B and play alongside Mali and two-time winners Angola.
On Tuesday, FIBA confirmed Mozambique as one of five hosts for the qualifiers, the East African Nations will host the continent.
