National Youth Games: Team Delta on course to reclaim overall winner’s title

With activities coming at the fifth National Youth Games coming to a close, Today, last year’s overall winners, Delta State, look set to retain their crown.

Team Delta has garnered a total of 94 medals – 36 gold, 29 Silver and 29 bronze medals – while, Lagos State is placed second with 69 medals – 21 gold 35 Silver and 13 bronze medals.

 

Bayelsa is number three with 41 medals, Akwa Ibom has 39 to place 4th, while the Edo state contingent has 10 gold, 7 silver and nine bronze for a total of 26 to place fifth.

 

Team Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, FCT and Plateau completes the top 10, just as Osun, Kaduna, Kwara, Abia, and Anambra make up the top 15.

 

Badminton, Boxing, Chess, Basketball, Cricket and track and field events will wrap up the 2019 National Youth Games, where over five thousand athletes competed.
