Victor Chinedu Anichebe was born on April 23, 1988, in Lagos. A year later, he moved to Liverpool with his family. Having some of these influences spurred him to achieve athletic success.

At age 15, Anichebe made Everton’s reserve team. Less than two years later, he was selected to make his first debut in February 2006.

 

In May 2006, he scored his first Premier League goal against West Bromwich Albion, and was awarded Everton’s Reserve Player of the Season for the 2005–06 season and that was the beginning of his goal-scoring magic.

 

Anichebe scoring skills led fans to choose him as Everton’s Young Player of the Season.  But in 2011, he suffered a groin injury, but he was able to make a returned in 2012 and scored match-defining goals.

 

After appearing in several games that season, he became recognized as Everton’s most used substitute and was utilized as their main striker.

 

Unfortunately, he again after suffered a hamstring injury that took him off the pitch, nothing letting that define his career, he again made a comeback.

 

In 2011, Anichebe suffered another groin injury during a 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifying match.

 

But his determination to put up a hard fight in other to remain in his game was evident in his statement when asked about his career and his frequent injuries, he said: “I’m sure I’ve put all that stuff behind me now. I’ve been unfortunate in the past but that’s nothing I can dwell on.”

 

Anichebe, though plagued with various injury throughout his football career, he still remained hopeful that he can build on his form and keep soaring high in his career.
