The foreign-based invited to the Super Falcons African Women Championship are expected in camp on Monday 5, November 2018 ahead of the tournament in Ghana.
Reports emanating yesterday, from the camp at Jubilee Chalets Epe, Lagos confirmed that team secretary, Coach Thomas Dennerby and some officials were at the camping ground but no player was sighted.
The NFF directed all players to report to the camp yesterday, but the team’s Media Officer, Mr. Harry Awurumibe hinted that the 19 foreign-based players were expected to report to the camp on Monday 5, November 2018 having provided with their tickets.
Awurumibe also stressed that some home-based players are still engaged in club assignments due to the ongoing Nigerian Women Premier League, and would also report to camp after weekend matches.
“The Nigerian Women Premier League is on, Nasarawa Amazons are on the road to Akure, and there are six players from that team that were invited so they will either be fighting to escape relegation or gets the promotion,” he said.
The 11th edition of AWCON tournament will hold from Saturday 17th November – December 11 in Ghana, with the Falcons, winning eight and out last ten editions.
