Dennerby Gives Update on Falcons Readiness ahead of AWCON qualifier

Super Falcons Coach, Thomas Dennerby has praised the physical conditions of his players ahead of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations stating that they are all in “good condition”.

The 8-time African champions commenced training on Monday as they build up to their title defence in Ghana and Dennerby told Brila.net that he is confident his players are almost ready.

Nigeria face Gambia at the Independence Stadium, Bakau, in the first-leg second round qualifier next month [6 June], where Dennerby will take charge of his first major game in charge of the Falcons on the continent.

The Swede led a home based team to a bronze medal finish at the maiden WAFU Women’s Championship and suffered a 8-0 battering against France recently.

But a confident Dennerby expressed optimism that “their fitness level is good”.
