Chelsea’s Left full-back Marcos Alonso has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association following an incident with Southampton’s Shane Long.
Alonso will be banned for three games for a high tackle made on Shane Long which was not seen by the officials during a draw against the Saints on Saturday.
The defender has until 6 pm on Wednesday to respond to the charge.
The Spaniard will miss games against Burnley and Swansea as well as Sunday’s semi-final at Wembley if he admits the charge.
A spokesperson for the FA said: ‘Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time are referred by The FA to a panel of three former elite match officials.
