Leicester City forward, Riyad Mahrez has expressed having frustration with his failed £60m move to Manchester City before Wednesday night.

The Foxes boss, Claude Puel has himself made a confession suggesting that the Algerian has huge disappointment at the moment.

And that is the aftermath of Mahrez again seeing a deadline-day switch collapse for the second transfer window on the trot.

Meanwhile, the Algerian international went ahead to hand in a transfer request at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

And that would be happening for the second time in eight months, amid interest from run-away Premier League leaders, City.

Mahrez, meanwhile, also saw deals with the pair of Arsenal and Roma break down in the most recent summer window.

Puel has now disclosed the winger was unhappy after Leicester pulled out of negotiations with the Mancunians earlier on Wednesday.

Man City had actually gone on to make an offer of a player-plus-cash deal worth within the range of about £60m.

But that bid failed to see the light of day as it was £15m lower than Leicester’s valuation of Mahrez.

During a chat with reporters on Wednesday night, Puel ruled out a last-minute deal for the in-form African attacking ace.

The Frenchman told Sky Sports News: “We will see with Riyad, perhaps, there is some disappointment.

“It is a difficult situation but I hope Riyad can come back with a smile, happy to play for us.”

Mahrez has so far netted 35 goals and weighed in with 24 assists in 127 Premier League matches for Leicester.
