I’m not under pressure – Rangers Coach Ogunbote

Coach of Enugu Rangers, Gbenga Ogunbote has stated that he doesn’t feel under pressure at his new club on the ground of huge expectations.

The Flying Antelope appointed Ogunbote after a disappointing outing last season losing their title in the process and also barely managing to survive the drop.

Ogunbote revealed that he wants to have a team that will challenge for the league title and one that will be competitive enough to win other titles as well insisting a better season awaits Rangers next season.

The new Rangers Manager, Ogunbote who recently left Enyimba after revealing a breakdown in negotiation with the people’s Elephant saw him depart the Aba club.

Ogunbote joined the People’s Elephants from Shooting Stars before the commencement of the 2016-17 season and led them to a third-place league finish, thus, securing a Caf Confederation Cup ticket.

But the coach elected to walk away from the former league champions after both parties failed to agree on terms of a new deal

“They desired to have me continue but they were unable to meet with the condition I set for them. I would like to continue working with my assistant coach, Abimbola Lawal because we have gone a long way together.

“I will also like to have my comfort too as a coach. I discussed all these with them but they are not disposed to approving them all. I have tried my best and I leave it to posterity to judge.

The experienced Manager joined Enugu Rangers subsequently after holding talks with the Board of the Enugu based premier League side in early in November.
