The ‘cast-in-doubt future’ of young Nigerian Striker, Victor Osimhen could take a different turn after Wolfsburg announced the sack of Manager Andries Jonker on Monday.
Osimhen was snapped up by Wolfsburg in 2016 with the hope that the Nigerian will bring his U17 World Cup form to the Volkswagen Arena.
After he turned 18; in 2017, he penned a three-and-a-half-year deal with the club.
Nine months after and the 18-year-old has only managed 45 minutes of any competitive football for the club.
So far this season he has not featured for Die Wölfe in the Bundesliga. The club even secured the services of Belgian Divock Origi on loan from Liverpool.
However, the acquisition has done little to change their fortunes as they slide down the slopes of another relegation battle.
On Monday, Jonker became the first managerial casualty of the nascent Bundesliga season on Monday.
The club announced it had parted ways with the former Arsenal youth academy Boss and ex-Mainz boss Martin Schmidt takes charge with immediate effect.
