Former D’Tigers coach Mike Brown has guided the New York Knicks to their first NBA Finals appearance in 27 years following a dominant victory over Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Knicks secured their place in the Finals with an emphatic 126-83 win on Monday night, completing an impressive playoff run that has reignited hopes among fans of the franchise.

New York will now compete in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, when they finished runners-up after losing 4-1 in the series.
The Knicks have enjoyed a historic postseason campaign, recording 11 playoff victories so far, and will now have more than a week to prepare ahead of the NBA Finals, which begin on June 3.
Game One of the Finals is expected to take place either in Oklahoma City or San Antonio, depending on the winner of the Western Conference Finals.

Speaking after the victory, Brown praised his team’s intensity and attacking approach throughout the game.

“Our guys played great. You’re in the conference finals and score 65 points off offensive rebounds and fast-break points. I don’t know if I’ve seen that at this point of the year. We wanted to push the pace.”
Brown, who previously coached Nigeria’s national basketball team, has earned widespread praise for transforming the Knicks into serious title contenders this season through disciplined defense, fast-paced offense, and strong team chemistry.
The NBA Finals appearance marks a significant milestone for the franchise and could potentially end decades of waiting for another championship title.
