CAF has announced that the official draw for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers will take place on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt.
The event, scheduled for 3pm local time at the headquarters of the Egyptian FA, will determine the qualification pathway for the remaining 48 nations.

According to CAF:
The draw officially marks the beginning of the next phase of the journey toward AFCON 2027, a tournament already generating massive excitement across the continent under the theme “PAMOJA” a Swahili word meaning “Together.”
The 48 participating teams will be drawn into 12 groups, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the finals tournament.
Hosts Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania have already secured automatic qualification as co-hosts of the competition. However, the three East African nations will still participate in the qualifiers.
As a result, one additional team from each of their respective groups will qualify alongside them for the tournament.
AFCON 2027 is scheduled to take place from 19 June to 17 July 2027 and will mark the first time the tournament will be hosted in East Africa since 1976.
