Nigeria U20 Women’s Team, the Falconets have booked their place in the final round of African qualification for the upcoming U-20 Women’s World Cup after a composed 2–1 victory over Senegal U20 Women’s Team in Diamniadio on Saturday evening.
The Two-time FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup silver medallists sealed a 3–1 aggregate triumph from the result of the second-leg clash.
The Falconets now move one step away from the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Poland in September.
Ifeanyi Assists Nigeria’s Falconets Defeat Senegal
Nigeria arrived in Senegal with a slender advantage after winning the first leg 1–0 in Abeokuta, thanks to a goal from Kindness Ifeanyi.
The forward once again opened the scoring in the 19th minute at the Annexe Stade Abdoulaye Wade.
Just as she did in the first leg at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Ifeanyi powered home a header from a corner kick delivered by defender Tumininu Adeshina, giving Nigeria early control of the contest.
Oscar Doubles the Lead for the Falconets
The Falconets maintained their dominance after the break and were rewarded again from another dead-ball situation.
In the 69th minute, Precious Oscar rose highest to head home Adeshina’s corner kick, doubling Nigeria’s advantage and extending their aggregate lead to 3–0.
Late Senegal Goal Fails to Stop Nigeria
Senegal managed to pull one goal back in the 76th minute through Sokhna N.T. Pene, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
Nigeria saw out the closing stages comfortably, producing a mature and disciplined display to secure passage into the final qualification round.

Final Hurdle: Malawi Await
With the victory, the Falconets now set up a decisive final-round clash against Malawi U20 Women’s Team, who edged Guinea-Bissau in their own qualifying fixture.
The final round, scheduled for May, will determine Africa’s four representatives at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
