Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi could be on his way to Napoli during the January transfer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano revealed on his X account that Napoli are in direct talks with Dortmund to negotiate a potential deal worth €45–50 million for the 23-year-old forward.

Napoli have also initiated discussions with Adeyemi’s representatives to agree on personal terms before proceeding with the German club.

“Understand Napoli and Borussia Dortmund are discussing a package worth €45/50m for Karim Adeyemi,” Romano reported.

“Direct club-to-club contact made today, as exclusively revealed. Napoli have also approached the player’s side to discuss contract terms.”

Adeyemi has previously been linked with Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United. However, Dortmund appear open to letting the player leave this month, with Napoli emerging as strong contenders for his signature.

The German forward has proven himself to be a lethal attacker when in form. During the 2021/22 season, Adeyemi delivered an impressive 19 goals and 5 assists in 29 Bundesliga games, along with 3 goals in the Champions League.

Napoli are looking to fill the void left by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whose €70 million transfer has provided the Italian champions with funds to strengthen their squad. Bringing in Adeyemi would ensure Napoli maintains their high standards on the pitch.
