Victor Osimhen scored a crucial second-half penalty to secure a 1-1 draw for Galatasaray in their away fixture against relegation-threatened Hatayspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Returning to league action after their 2-1 win over Istanbul Basaksehir where Osimhen provided an assist Galatasaray faced a determined Hatayspor side.

The home team took the lead in the 28th minute through Cemali Sertel, leaving the Turkish champions chasing the game.

Galatasaray’s persistence paid off in the 56th minute when Osimhen coolly converted from the penalty spot to restore parity. The 26-year-old Nigerian forward played the entire match, showcasing his all-around ability beyond just scoring.

Osimhen created one big chance, delivered three key passes, and completed 14 of his 18 attempted passes (78%) from 29 touches, underlining his effectiveness in linking up play despite limited opportunities.

The Super Eagles star has now tallied 14 goals and six assists across all competitions for Galatasaray this season, cementing his status as a pivotal figure in Okan Buruk’s side.

Galatasaray remain top of the Super Lig standings with 50 points from 18 games as they continue their pursuit of another league title.
