Nigeria defender Ashleigh Plumptre is thrilled to be back with the Super Falcons after being named in the squad for their upcoming international friendly against France on Sunday.
 The 25-year-old centre-back made a successful recovery from an ACL injury that sidelined her for months and caused her to miss the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Plumptre’s inclusion in interim head coach Justine Madugu’s 20-player squad marks a significant moment in her comeback as she also missed out the previous squad that faced Algeria.
 Reflecting on her return, the defender shared her excitement on social media, saying, “Feels great to have made the Super Falcons list for the upcoming international games. Good opportunity to fight for the badge again.”
Having earned 17 caps for Nigeria, Ashley Plumptre is eager to add to her tally and contribute to the team’s efforts in the friendly match against France, as they prepare for future international competitions.
Her recovery and return to the pitch have been a major boost for the Super Falcons’ defence as they continue their preparations for upcoming friendly game against France.
