Yet, Eguavoen insists that this familiarity won’t sway their performance on the field.

‘We Know Rohr Inside Out’ – Eguavoen Confident Ahead of Benin Clash

Super Eagles interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen has affirmed that his team will push hard to claim all three points against Benin Republic, despite the familiarity of their coach Gernot Rohr.

Eguavoen acknowledged Rohr’s deep familiarity with the Nigerian team, having managed the Super Eagles.

The German led Nigeria from 2016 to 2021, taking the team to the 2018 FIFA World Cup and securing a bronze medal at AFCON 2019.

Yet, Eguavoen insists that this familiarity won’t sway their performance on the field.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Eguavoen stated, “We know what he’s capable of, and he knows Nigeria is a country you don’t tolerate.

We respect them, and we’ll play with the mindset that we come into games with and that’s to win, but it’s easier said than done..”

“We’ll fight for every ball, fight for every point, and that’s what we want to do tomorrow (today).

In respect to that, Benin is not a pushover, but we will work hard to make sure we achieve our objective,” he added.

The Super Eagles only need a point from their last two qualifying matches, with their next game scheduled against Rwanda on November 18 in Uyo.
