Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has reiterated his commitment to stay at Galatasaray for the remainder of the season, putting to rest rumors of a possible January departure.
Osimhen, who was linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window, saw potential deals fall through after protracted negotiations.
The Nigerian striker had fallen out of favour under new coach Antonio Conte at Napoli and had expressed his reluctance to continue playing for the Serie A side.
Galatasaray stepped in with a loan offer, which included clauses allowing Osimhen to move to a top European club in January if Napoli’s terms were met.
However, despite the speculation, Osimhen has made it clear that he intends to see out the season with the Turkish champions.
Thriving in Turkey
Since joining Galatasaray, Osimhen has been in excellent form, scoring six goals and providing four assists this season.
His performances have sparked interest from several clubs, and Chelsea are rumored to be interested, ahead of the January transfer window.
Despite the growing interest, Osimhen has firmly denied any plans to leave mid-season.
“They keep talking about January, but I am here until the end of the season,” Osimhen said, addressing the speculation. “I don’t know what Galatasaray and Napoli are talking about after that.”
“We will talk when they tell me. This is a club I really like,” Osimhen stated, as quoted by Nexus Sports.
Osimhen’s commitment to Galatasaray was evident once again on Thursday night, as he scored a brace in their 3-2 UEFA Europa League victory against Tottenham Hotspur.
