A total of 30 women coaches were awarded certificates at the closing ceremony of the first-ever CAF C-License coaching course, held in Abuja last weekend.

The historic program, organized by the Nigeria Football Federation, began in July and included three intensive modules, with the final examinations taking place at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project, MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Among the participants were over a dozen former Super Falcons players, who took part in both classroom and on-field training sessions.

The course also featured internships with football clubs between each module to enhance practical learning.

During the closing ceremony, NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau encouraged the graduates to build on the knowledge they acquired.

“We are keen to see you utilize the knowledge you have acquired in this programme.”

“The NFF will interface with the States that own Premier League clubs to integrate you into their system, in order that you are able to acquire more technical knowledge on the field.”

“My dream is to see young women coaches standing in the dugout giving instructions in a men’s team. I will do the best I can to see that this happens during my tenure as the NFF President.”

NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi also spoke at the event, urging the coaches to apply their skills effectively and serve as ambassadors for Nigeria.

“The knowledge you have acquired, please make sure you apply the same. It is not enough to get the certificate.”

“We hope you will be good ambassadors of this country so that the NFF will be fulfilled, and FIFA and CAF will also be excited about this programme going forward.”
