‘My Goal Will Come’ – Osimhen Optimistic Amidst Galatasaray Scoring Struggles

Victor Osimhen says he is calm despite is dry spell in front of goals for Galatasaray.

The forward failed to find the back of the net during Galatasaray’s 1-0 Europa League victory over Greek side PAOK at the Rams Stadium on Wednesday night.

Osimhen appeared to have broken his dry spell when he scored in the match, but the goal was ultimately recorded as an own goal by PAOK’s Abdul Rahman Baba.

This means Osimhen is still waiting for his first goal after three appearances for the Turkish club, though he has contributed three assists during that time.

Reflecting on the situation, Osimhen said, “Unfortunately, my goal was counted as an own-goal again. My goal will come.

“The important thing is Galatasaray’s win. I want to thank the fans; they are always with us.”

The Nigerian international also praised his new teammates, particularly fellow strikers Mauro Icardi and Michy Batshuayi for helping him settle at the Club.

“I have a very good relationship with Icardi and Batshuayi. We saw Icardi’s experience today – he came in and finished the match.

“He’s a leader, both on the field and in training. Batshuayi is also a great character, and all my teammates have been supportive. I am very happy to be here.”

Osimhen remains optimistic as he continues his quest for his first goal with Galatasaray.
