Akor Adams is happy to help his Montpellier register their first win in the first win of the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season.
Adams was the hero on Sunday, scoring twice to lead his team to a 3-2 victory over Auxerre.
The striker’s brace ended Montpellier’s five-match winless streak, helping to turn around a difficult start to the campaign.
Speaking after the game, Adams expressed his joy:
“I’m happy for the whole team and for myself as well. It could have been three or four goals, but I’m satisfied with the three points. We just need to keep pushing.”
He also acknowledged the fans’ support during the tough period. “Our fans deserve this win, and I know I have to give even more.
“I work for the team, creating space and helping where I can, but I know I should have scored more during the goalless spell,” he said.
With three goals in five games this season, Adams will be looking to maintain his form as Montpellier aims to build momentum following their breakthrough win.
