UCL: Lookman Optimistic After Atalanta’s Frustrating Draw with Arsenal

Atalanta winger, Ademola Lookman believes his team did enough to secure victory in their UEFA Champions League clash against Arsenal, but is content with the draw.

Atalanta dominated the game and had a prime opportunity to break the deadlock when they were awarded a second-half penalty.

However, Mateo Retegui’s penalty was saved by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, who also denied the follow-up attempt.

Despite the missed chance, Lookman praised his team’s performance.

“We had a plan and we were unfortunate not to score. We will take the positives out of it and move on.”

Reflecting on the competitive nature of the match, Lookman added, “It was kind of a chess match. Obviously, they are one of the top teams and we matched them tonight. We’ll take the draw. Onto the next.”

Atalanta will now turn their attention to their upcoming Serie A fixture against Como this weekend, where Lookman aims to build on his tally of one goal and one assist at Bergamo Stadium.
