Super Falcons midfielder, Jennifer Echegini has resumed training with PSG Féminine following her participation in the Olympic Games.
Echegini, who joined the French club before the summer Olympics, after departing Italian giants Juventus, is eager to make her mark in the French league.
She had a successful stint with Juventus, where she scored 10 goals and provided one assist in 16 appearances last season.
Her impact at the Italian club was immediate, as she displayed her dynamic play and international experience.
On Tuesday afternoon, Echegini had her first training session at the PSG campus since her participation with Nigeria at the Olympic Games in Paris.
This marked her first opportunity to meet her new teammates and the technical crew.
“The Nigerian midfielder was able to meet her teammates as well as the technical staff,” PSG stated.
Reflecting on her move to Paris, Echegini expressed her excitement: “Signing for Paris Saint-Germain is a huge source of pride.
“I am very proud to join a club that is recognized around the world for its ambition and excellence,” she told the club’s official website.
An Olympics to Remember
Despite the Super Falcons’ disappointing exit from the Women’s Football Tournament in the group stages; losing all three matches, Echegini had a moment to remember.
She scored the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament’s 500th goal with a powerful strike from the edge of the box against Japan, a goal that stands as the only one Nigeria managed during the group phase.
The team lost 1-0 to Brazil and by the same scoreline to Spain before a 3-1 defeat to Japan ended their campaign.
Echegini’s Olympic goal also etched her name in Nigerian football history, becoming the fourth Nigerian woman to score at the Olympics.
