Ezekiel Nathaniel of Nigeria fell short in his bid to reach the final of the men’s 400m hurdles at the Olympic Games.
Competing in the first semi-final heat, Nathaniel finished 5th with a time of 48.65 seconds, missing out on a spot in the final.
The race was dominated by defending champion Karsten Warholm, who secured victory with a time of 47.67 seconds.
French athlete Clement Ducos clinched the second automatic qualifying spot with a time of 47.85 seconds, while Alison Dos Santos of Brazil finished third in 47.95 seconds.
Participating in his first Olympic Games, Nathaniel will look to build on this experience and aim for better results in future competitions.
