As D’Tigress prepare for their high-stakes Quarter-final match against the defending champions Team USA, head coach Rena Wakama remains optimistic, and dismissed concerns that her team is under pressure.

D’Tigress will face the star-studded Team USA roster on Wednesday in Lille, aiming to build on their impressive performance in Paris.

The African champions have already turned heads by securing victories over Australia and Canada, with their only loss coming against France.

Wakama expressed confidence in her team’s capabilities, highlighting their resilience and quality.

“I am glad we did have that loss (against Australia) because we were able to get back to what we do best,” Wakama stated.

“Also, there’s no pressure now on us, and we have shown everyone that we deserve to be playing here.”

With Sunday’s win over Canada, Nigeria made history by becoming the first African team to reach the quarterfinal stage, boasting a 2-1 record in the group phase.
