The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has confirmed that the 2024/25 season will follow a full-schedule format, despite earlier reports suggesting a potential shift to an abridged format due to financial challenges faced by some clubs.
This decision was finalized during the NPFL’s Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday.
Club owners collectively resolved to maintain the traditional full-schedule format for the upcoming season.
“I can confidently tell you that the 2024/25 NPFL season will be a full format and not an abridged one,” Rivers United General Manager Okey Kpalukwu stated to reporters on the first day of the meeting in Lagos.
The new season is set to kick off on Saturday August 31, 2024.
Rangers emerged as Champions last season, with Remo Stars and Enyimba finishing second and third respectively.
