Rwanda’s national football team coach, Torsten Frank Spittler, shared his views on the FIFA World Cup qualifiers and Nigeria’s chances of making it to the World Cup.
In his talk in an exclusive interview with Brila FM, Spittler highlighted Rwanda’s current strong position and expressed hope for Nigeria.
Rwanda currently leads Group C with seven points. They are tied with South Africa and Benin Republic but are four points ahead of Nigeria.
Spittler praised his team’s efforts but also recognized the challenges ahead. “There is still a very long way to go,” Spittler said. “Nigeria still has the chance to qualify.”
The 62 year-old explained that only the top team in the group gets a direct spot in the World Cup. The second-placed team faces a tough path with additional playoff rounds.
“As there is only the first one who is really going directly through to the World Cup and for the second-ranked team, it’s a very difficult process then to make it,” he added.
Spittler respects Nigeria’s potential, and He believes that Nigeria can still change their fortunes and qualify for the World Cup.
