Table tennis star Aruna Quadri has revealed that he would have pursued a career in sprinting had he not chosen his current sport.
Speaking on Brila FM’s “Big Interview”, Quadri discussed the career path he would have taken if he weren’t playing table tennis.
The 35-year-old who recently added the ITTF Africa Cup medal to his collection stated, “I was very good in the 100-meter race and the 4×100-meter relay race.”
“I remember vividly representing my primary school, but I discovered I was much better in table tennis and decided to fully focus on it.”
He also advised parents not to force any career path on their children but rather to support their children’s choices.
“We should never force anything on our kids; whatever they like and are good at, we will support them.”
Aruna Quadri will be competing in Paris at the Olympic Games, where he aims to make history as the first African to win gold in the Singles event.
